Land-based oily wastewater originates from various industries and is characterized by its wide distribution and numerous sources. It constitutes a significant volume of organic wastewater with relatively severe pollution levels. The types of oil, oil composition, degree of oil-water mixing, and operational conditions in land-based oily wastewater are far more complex than those in marine vessel oily wastewater. Domestically, multiple models of shipboard oily wastewater treatment devices have been developed to meet the needs of treating marine vessel oily wastewater.
The treatment device integrates enhanced gravity separation, coalescence, and adsorption coalescence processes into a single cylindrical steel structure. Combined with fluid pumps, oil storage tanks, and electrical control boxes, it forms a complete treatment system. The treatment process fully utilizes the characteristics of gravity separation and the specific properties of different separation materials, providing broad adaptability to various challenging oily wastewater conditions. It is entirely suitable for treating oily wastewater containing various types of oil such as engine oil, diesel, gasoline, lubricating oil, animal and vegetable oils, and some heavy oils—provided no surfactants are present.

The treated water can be directly discharged or appropriately reused, while the extracted waste oil can be directly recycled.
